Here's the simple version: guar gum is a thick, gel-forming fiber, and when you swallow it close to your dose of aspirin with codeine, that gel can grab onto the medicine in your gut and slow down or lower how much gets absorbed. The result could be weaker pain relief than you expect from the combo. This is a possible, moderate concern based on real but limited research with other oral medicines, so think of it as a timing issue rather than something dangerous.

An easy fix is spacing them out. Taking your guar gum about 30 to 60 minutes after your aspirin/codeine helps the medicine absorb normally. Food amounts of guar gum usually aren't a problem; concentrated fiber supplements are where I'd pay attention. Run your routine by your pharmacist before changing anything.
