Here's the thing to keep in mind with Bijuva (estradiol and progesterone): guar gum is a thick, gel-forming fiber, and that gel can grab onto pills in your stomach and gut. This may slow down or slightly reduce how much of your hormone medication actually gets absorbed. These aren't activated by your body the way a prodrug is, so the worry here is simply getting less of the dose into your system.

If absorption drops, you might notice your hormone symptoms creeping back, like hot flashes, night sweats, or sleep trouble. The easy fix is timing: take your Bijuva first, then wait about 30 to 60 minutes before your guar gum. The evidence is moderate, not alarming, but spacing them out keeps things simple. Check with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

Here's the simple version: guar gum is a thick, gel-forming fiber. As it swells up in your gut, it can grab onto things passing through, including the hormones in Bijuva (estradiol and progesterone). The worry is that less of your hormone dose gets absorbed, which could make it work a little less well. In practice that might mean breakthrough symptoms creeping back, like hot flashes, night sweats, or irregular spotting.

I want to be honest about the evidence, though. This has only been seen in animal studies using ethinyl estradiol, and it has not been reported in people. It's more theoretical than proven. To stay on the safe side, you can space the two apart by a few hours and take the fiber with plenty of water. Run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
