Here's the simple version: guar gum is a thick, gel-forming fiber, and when you swallow it that gel can wrap around other things in your stomach and gut. That includes oral medicines like Reyvow (lasmiditan), which you take as a tablet when a migraine hits. The fiber may slow down or trap a bit of the drug, so less of it gets absorbed and it may not kick in as well or as fast when you really need relief.

Lasmiditan isn't a prodrug, so this is mostly about absorption, not a dangerous buildup. The evidence here is moderate and comes from other oral drugs, not lasmiditan itself. A good rule is to space them out: take your lasmiditan first, then wait 30 to 60 minutes before your guar gum. When in doubt, run the timing by your pharmacist.

Reyvow (lasmiditan) is used to treat migraine attacks in adults, whether or not the migraine comes with an aura (visual or sensory symptoms that can appear before or during the headache). It is taken when a migraine starts — not used daily to prevent migraines from happening.

Reyvow is not intended for preventive (daily) migraine therapy. It is meant to stop an attack that has already begun.
