Here's the simple version: guar gum is a thick, gel-forming fiber, and when it sits in your gut it can grab onto pills and slow or lessen how much your body soaks up. Your tablet combines reserpine (which helps lower blood pressure) with trichlormethiazide (a water pill). Neither one is a prodrug, so the concern here is straightforward: less of the medicine getting absorbed could mean a weaker effect, like blood pressure creeping back up or the water pill not working as well.

The evidence is moderate and mostly from other oral drugs, not this exact combo, so don't panic. A practical fix is spacing them out: take your medication first, then wait 30 to 60 minutes before the guar gum. Run it by your pharmacist or doctor to be safe.
