Hesperidin + Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate
Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate brand name: Tritec.
Hesperidin has a moderate interaction with Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate. Theoretically, hesperidin might inhibit P-glycoprotein-mediated drug efflux and potentially increase levels of drugs that are substrates of P-glycoprotein.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate
Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Hesperidin interacts with.
In vitro research shows that hesperidin can inhibit P-glycoprotein efflux. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for combining hesperidin with ranitidine bismuth citrate (Tritec). Your body uses a kind of cellular bouncer called P-glycoprotein to push certain drugs back out of cells. Lab studies hint that hesperidin might slow that bouncer down, which could let a little more ranitidine stay in your system. In theory, that means slightly stronger effects, like the typical mild ones you might see with this medicine: headache, constipation or diarrhea, or feeling a bit dizzy.
I want to be honest about the evidence here. This is only seen in test tube and animal research, never confirmed in real people, so it may not matter at all in everyday life. Ranitidine is also a fairly forgiving drug, not one where tiny changes are dangerous. Still, it never hurts to mention any supplement to your pharmacist or doctor.

About Hesperidin
What is Hesperidin?
- Hemorrhoids
- Varicose veins and poor circulation
- Leg swelling (venous insufficiency)
- High blood pressure
- Antioxidant support
Hesperidin is a flavonoid found in citrus fruits that is often combined with diosmin and used for vein and circulation problems like hemorrhoids and varicose veins. Some evidence supports these uses, but data for many other claims is limited. It is generally well tolerated, but pregnant and breastfeeding people should avoid it because safety has not been established.
About Ranitidine
What Is Ranitidine Used For?
Brand name: Tritec
Ranitidine treats a range of stomach acid–related conditions. Prescription-strength ranitidine (capsules, tablets, and oral solution) is used for active duodenal ulcers (ulcers in the small intestine), active benign gastric ulcers (stomach ulcers), GERD (acid reflux disease), erosive esophagitis (acid damage to the esophagus), and pathological hypersecretory conditions — rare disorders where the stomach makes far too much acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is also used as maintenance therapy to keep duodenal and gastric ulcers from coming back after they have healed.
Over-the-counter products — including Acid Reducer and Acid Reducer 150 tablets — are approved to relieve heartburn associated with acid indigestion and sour stomach, and to prevent that heartburn when taken before eating or drinking foods that trigger it.
