Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Albiglutide
Albiglutide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Inositol interacts with.
Clinical research shows that inositol lowers blood glucose levels and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels in patients with diabetes.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: both albiglutide (Tanzeum) and inositol can push your blood sugar down. Albiglutide isn't a prodrug, so this isn't about your body breaking it down differently. The two just work in the same direction, and stacking them can add up to lower glucose than you planned for.
That means a slightly higher chance of hypoglycemia, which can show up as shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or confusion. The good news is the evidence here is solid that inositol nudges blood sugar and HbA1c down, but the actual added risk is considered possible, not guaranteed. If you'd like to try inositol, check with your pharmacist or doctor first so they can watch your numbers and adjust if needed.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Albiglutide page
“People injecting albiglutide (Tanzeum) once a week for type 2 diabetes are often the same people eyeing supplements marketed for blood sugar, and that overlap is exactly where this list calls for real vigilance. Every one of the 239 ingredients on file touches glucose control in some way, most by adding to albiglutide's glucose-lowerin…”

About Inositol
What is Inositol?
- Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
- Anxiety and panic
- Depression and mood
- Insulin and blood sugar support
- Fertility support
- Metabolic syndrome
Inositol is a sugar alcohol made naturally in the body and found in many foods, and it is sold as a supplement (often myo-inositol) mainly for PCOS, mood, and metabolic concerns. The strongest evidence is for PCOS-related symptoms, while support for other uses is more limited. It is generally well tolerated, but talk with your pharmacist or doctor before starting it, especially if you are pregnant or have a health condition.

Albiglutide Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Albiglutide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Inositol — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
