Inulin + Insulin
Insulin brand name: NovoRapid Insulin.
Inulin has a minor interaction with Insulin. Theoretically, inulin might increase the risk of hypoglycemia with antidiabetes drugs.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Insulin
Insulin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Inulin interacts with.
Some clinical research shows that inulin improves glycemic control in patients with diabetes; however, it is unclear if it has hypoglycemic effects.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the gist for your NovoRapid insulin: insulin already lowers your blood sugar, and there's a theoretical idea that inulin fiber could nudge your blood sugar a little lower too. If that happens while you're dosing insulin, the two together could in theory raise the chance of a low blood sugar episode (shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy).
That said, this one is mild and unlikely. It's based on how things work on paper, not strong studies, and some research actually shows inulin may gently help glucose control. The bigger real-world effect of inulin is gas and bloating. If you add an inulin supplement, just keep an eye on your blood sugar readings at first and mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can guide any insulin adjustments.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Insulin page
“Someone injecting insulin (NovoRapid) is often the same person browsing supplements sold for blood sugar support, which is exactly why this list warrants genuine caution. Nearly all 242 entries push glucose one way or the other, most often further down, stacking with insulin and raising the risk of hypoglycemia, meaning dangerously low…”

About Inulin
What is Inulin?
- Constipation and regularity
- Prebiotic gut health
- Blood sugar support
- Calcium absorption
- Weight management
- Cholesterol support
Inulin is a type of plant fiber (a prebiotic) found naturally in foods like chicory root, onions, and garlic, and it is widely added to supplements and processed foods. It may help with regularity and feeding healthy gut bacteria, but it commonly causes gas and bloating, especially at higher doses. Start low, increase slowly, and check with your pharmacist or doctor if you have gut conditions.

Insulin Is Linked to Lower Levels of 2 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Insulin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Inulin — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
