Ivy Gourd + Fexofenadine
Fexofenadine brand name: Allegra.
We found no known interaction between Ivy Gourd and Fexofenadine in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Ivy Gourd and Fexofenadine
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Fexofenadine and Ivy Gourd in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Fexofenadine
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Fexofenadine is filed under 6 classifications — including organic anion-transporting polypeptide substrates (oatp), p-glycoprotein substrates, seizure threshold lowering drugs. Ivy Gourd has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being antidiabetes drugs (moderate) — and none of Fexofenadine’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

Questions About Ivy Gourd or Fexofenadine
These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. See Every Supplement That Interacts With Fexofenadine
This page covers Ivy Gourd only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Fexofenadine page lists 154 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Apple (major), Grapefruit (major), St. John's Wort (major) and Sweet Orange (major).
By severity: 5 major · 111 moderate · 38 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Fexofenadine page
“An over-the-counter allergy pill sounds like the last place serious interactions would hide, but fexofenadine (Allegra) has 154 supplements and foods on file, and the five rated major deserve real attention before you combine it with much of anything else. Two of those five sit in most refrigerators.”

About Ivy Gourd
What is Ivy Gourd?
- Blood sugar support
- Digestive complaints
- Skin conditions
- General wellness and nutrition
Ivy gourd is a tropical vine widely eaten as a vegetable and used in traditional medicine, most often for blood sugar support. Early human research hints it may modestly lower blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and not strong enough to replace standard diabetes care. If you have diabetes or take medicine, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using ivy gourd supplements.
Coccinia grandis · Cucurbitaceae · Fruit, leaves, stems, and roots · Fresh vegetable, dried powder, capsules, leaf extracts, teas
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Ivy Gourd is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Ivy Gourd record says about it on its own.
Ivy Gourd: dosing
There is no official or well-established standard dose for ivy gourd supplements. Studies have used different forms and amounts, so it is hard to recommend a specific dose.If you choose to use an ivy gourd product, follow the directions on the product label and do not exceed the recommended amount.

About Fexofenadine
What Is Fexofenadine Used For?
Brand name: Allegra
Fexofenadine temporarily relieves symptoms of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) and other upper respiratory allergies, including runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, and itching of the nose or throat.
Several products — including Allegra Hives 24hr tablets — are specifically used to reduce hives (urticaria) and relieve the itching that comes with them. Keep in mind that fexofenadine will not prevent hives or stop an allergic skin reaction from happening in the first place.
Most-Reported Side Effects for Fexofenadine
From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (40,472 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.
