ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Glucose
Glucose falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Ivy Gourd interacts with.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the simple version: ivy gourd seems to nudge blood sugar down on its own. Glucose, on the other hand, is sugar you take to bring blood sugar up, often when someone is low or being treated for a low. So these two pull in opposite directions.
The practical worry is that if you're leaning on ivy gourd for blood sugar support, it could blunt or work against the rise in sugar you're trying to get from glucose, or make your overall numbers harder to predict. The flip side is real too: if you stop the supplement, your sugars may shift again. None of this means you can't use either one. Just check your levels closely and let your pharmacist or doctor know you're taking ivy gourd so they can guide the timing and dose.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Glucose page
“Glucose given by IV raises a dangerously low blood sugar, and this list warrants real caution because most of its 256 ingredients pull the other way. Nearly all of them lower blood sugar on their own, working against the treatment and setting up another crash.”

About Ivy Gourd
What is Ivy Gourd?
- Blood sugar support
- Digestive complaints
- Skin conditions
- General wellness and nutrition
Ivy gourd is a tropical vine widely eaten as a vegetable and used in traditional medicine, most often for blood sugar support. Early human research hints it may modestly lower blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and not strong enough to replace standard diabetes care. If you have diabetes or take medicine, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using ivy gourd supplements.

Glucose Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Glucose as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Ivy Gourd — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
