Juice Fasting + Eplerenone

Eplerenone brand name: Inspra.

No Known Interaction
The bottom line No known interaction

We found no known interaction between Juice Fasting and Eplerenone in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.

Juice Fasting and Eplerenone

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Eplerenone and Juice Fasting in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Juice Fasting alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Juice Fasting at all — not against Eplerenone, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Juice Fasting is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

No Interaction Found — But Data Suggests Juice Fasting and Eplerenone May Share a Side Effect

This is not an interaction. Neither one changes how your body handles the other, and nothing here says they react together. What our sources do show is that each has separately been linked to the effects below — so following Juice Fasting while taking the medicine can make those effects more likely to turn up, and harder to pin on one or the other if they do. One of them is worth acting on rather than waiting out — marked below.

“There is currently a limited amount of reliable information available on the adverse effects of juice fasting. However, juice fasts do not provide adequate nutrition and involve the consumption of large quantities of water, which can lead to electrolyte imbalances when used short-term and malnutrition when used long-term.”

“There are multiple case reports of oxalate-induced kidney injury in adults who are participating in juice fasts. It is likely that this kidney injury is due in part to the significant increase in oxalate consumption, as well as the reduction in calcium intake, that occurs during a juice fast.

Reported for Juice Fasting but not commonly for Eplerenone: an electrolyte imbalance and dehydration.

Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 12,732 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Eplerenone that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Wording is matched across sources by our own clinical vocabulary, so treat this as a prompt to pay attention, not a diagnosis.

About Juice Fasting

What is Juice Fasting?

  • Weight loss
  • Detoxification or 'cleansing'
  • Boosting fruit and vegetable intake
  • Improving energy or well-being
  • Resetting eating habits

Juice fasting means consuming only fruit and vegetable juices for a set period, often marketed for 'detox' or quick weight loss. There is little solid evidence that it cleanses the body or offers lasting health benefits, and your liver and kidneys already remove toxins on their own. Short juice fasts are low-risk for healthy adults, but they can be unsafe for some people, so check with a pharmacist or doctor first.

Fruit and vegetable juices · Fresh-pressed (cold-pressed) juices, store-bought juice blends, commercial juice-cleanse programs

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Juice Fasting is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Juice Fasting record says about it on its own.

Juice Fasting: dosing

There is no standardized or medically established way to do a juice fast. Programs vary widely in how many juices are consumed per day and how long the fast lasts. If you choose to try a short juice fast, keeping it brief (about one to three days), staying well hydrated with water, and easing back into solid food gradually are common-sense steps.

About Eplerenone

Eplerenone treats two conditions. First, it is used to lower high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of stroke and heart attack. It can be used alone or alongside other blood pressure medicines.

Second, eplerenone is used to improve survival in stable adults who have heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) — meaning the heart pumps less blood than normal — following an acute myocardial infarction (heart attack).

Most-Reported Side Effects for Eplerenone

From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (12,732 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.
