Empagliflozin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Krill Oil interacts with.

Theoretically, taking krill oil with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Some research in animals and humans shows that krill oil might lower blood glucose levels. However, a small study shows that taking krill oil does not reduce blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes, most of whom were taking antidiabetes drugs.

Here's the simple version: krill oil isn't changing how your body processes Jardiance (empagliflozin), and it doesn't speed it up or slow it down. The concern is more additive. Both krill oil and empagliflozin can nudge blood sugar a little lower, so taking them together could in theory push your sugar down more than expected.

Honestly, the evidence here is thin and a bit mixed. Some studies hint krill oil lowers glucose, but one study in people with type 2 diabetes (most already on diabetes meds) found no real drop. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Just be aware of low-sugar signs like shakiness, sweating, or feeling lightheaded, and check your readings if you start krill oil. Loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding it so they can keep an eye on things.

What Is Empagliflozin Used For?

Brand name: Jardiance

Jardiance (empagliflozin) tablets are used for several conditions in adults. These include heart failure, chronic kidney disease at risk of progression, and type 2 diabetes with established cardiovascular disease.

Jardiance is also used along with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes. This use covers adults and children aged 10 and older. It is not recommended for blood sugar control in type 1 diabetes.
