L-arginine + Chlorpropamide
Chlorpropamide brand names: Diabinese, Chlorpropam.
L-arginine has a moderate interaction with Chlorpropamide. Theoretically, concomitant use of L-arginine might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs.

ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Chlorpropamide
Chlorpropamide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group L-arginine interacts with.
Preliminary clinical research shows that L-arginine decreases blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: Chlorpropamide (Diabinese) is a sulfonylurea that lowers your blood sugar by prodding your pancreas to release more insulin. Some early research suggests L-arginine can also nudge blood sugar down in people with type 2 diabetes. Stack the two together and the effects may add up, which means your blood sugar could drop lower than expected.
If that happens, you might notice low blood sugar signs like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, hunger, or a fast heartbeat. Chlorpropamide is long-acting, so any lows can linger. The good news is this concern is mostly theoretical right now, not strongly proven. Still, if you take both, check your sugars and chat with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

About L-arginine
What is L-arginine?
- High blood pressure
- Erectile dysfunction
- Athletic performance
- Chest pain (angina)
- Improving blood flow
L-arginine is an amino acid that the body uses to make nitric oxide, a substance that helps blood vessels relax and widen. It is popularly used for blood pressure, erectile dysfunction, and exercise, but the evidence is mixed and stronger for some uses than others. It is generally well tolerated in healthy adults, but talk with a pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have heart problems or take other medicines.

Chlorpropamide Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Chlorpropamide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with L-arginine — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
