“Orally, L-arginine has been reported to cause nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, dyspepsia, gastrointestinal discomfort, and bloating.

Orally, L-arginine has been reported to cause esophagitis in at least six adolescents. Symptoms, which included pain and dysphagia, occurred within 1-3 months of treatment in most cases. There are at least two cases of acute pancreatitis possibly associated with oral L-arginine.”

L-arginine is an amino acid that the body uses to make nitric oxide, a substance that helps blood vessels relax and widen. It is popularly used for blood pressure, erectile dysfunction, and exercise, but the evidence is mixed and stronger for some uses than others. It is generally well tolerated in healthy adults, but talk with a pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have heart problems or take other medicines.

What Is Dextroamphetamine Used For?

Brand name: Dexedrine

Dextroamphetamine treats two conditions: ADHD and narcolepsy (a sleep disorder causing uncontrollable daytime sleepiness). It is available in multiple forms — tablets, extended-release capsules, oral solution, and a skin patch — and the approved age ranges vary by product.

Oral tablets (Zenzedi, generic) and oral solutions (Procentra, generic) are approved for ADHD in children as young as 3 years old and for narcolepsy. Extended-release capsules (Dexedrine, generic) are approved for ADHD in children ages 6 to 16 and for narcolepsy. Xelstrym, the transdermal patch, is approved only for ADHD — in adults and children ages 6 and older — and is not indicated for narcolepsy.
