Here's the simple version: temazepam already works by calming down your brain to help you sleep. The thought is that lemon verbena might add a little extra calming on top of that. If both pull in the same direction, you could feel more drowsy than expected, more groggy the next morning, dizzy, or unsteady on your feet. In theory, heavy sedation could also slow your breathing.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. It comes from a mouse study using a related sedative, not from people, so it's mostly theoretical. A cup of lemon verbena tea is unlikely to be a big deal for most folks, but concentrated supplements are a different story. Since temazepam is a sleep med, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist before combining the two.

Temazepam capsules — sold as Restoril and under the generic name Temazepam — are indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia, generally 7 to 10 days. They help people fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.

This medication is intended for short periods only. If sleep trouble doesn't improve within 7 to 10 days, that may signal an underlying medical or psychiatric condition that needs its own evaluation.
