Triazolam (Halcion) is a benzodiazepine sleeping pill, so it already works by calming brain activity to help you drift off. The concern here is simple: lemon verbena may add a little extra sedation on top of what your sleeping pill already does. In theory, that could mean feeling groggier, more drowsy the next morning, or having trouble with balance and clear thinking.

I want to be honest about the evidence though. This is based mostly on a mouse study, not on people, so it's a theoretical caution rather than a proven problem. A cup of lemon verbena tea is unlikely to cause trouble, but concentrated supplement doses are harder to predict. If you're taking triazolam regularly, just run your lemon verbena use by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Lemon verbena is a fragrant South American herb most often enjoyed as a tea or flavoring, and it contains polyphenols like verbascoside that have antioxidant activity in lab studies. Some small studies hint at benefits for inflammation, exercise recovery, and appetite, but the human evidence is limited and far from proven. What Is Triazolam Used For?

Brand names: Halcion, Triazo, Apo-Triazo, Gen-Triazolam, Mylan-Triazolam, Novo-Triolam, Nu-Triazo

Triazolam tablets are used for the short-term treatment of insomnia in adults — generally for 7 to 10 days. It is not intended for long-term use. If sleep problems last beyond 2 to 3 weeks, a full medical evaluation is needed to look for an underlying cause.

Halcion (brand-name triazolam) is specifically indicated for short-term insomnia in adults, with prescriptions written for no more than a 1-month supply. Generic triazolam tablets carry the same indication and the same duration limits.
