Lemongrass + Loratadine
Loratadine brand name: Claritin.
Lemongrass has a moderate interaction with Loratadine. Theoretically, lemongrass might decrease the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Loratadine
Loratadine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Lemongrass interacts with.
Animal research shows that lemongrass and its constituent citral inhibit CYP3A4.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help break down loratadine (Claritin). Lab and animal studies suggest lemongrass, and a compound in it called citral, may slow that enzyme down. If that happened in people, a bit more loratadine could linger in your system than usual.
Loratadine is pretty gentle, so even with a little extra around, most folks would just notice mild things like dry mouth, a slight headache, or feeling a touch drowsy (though it's normally non-drowsy). The key thing to know: this is theoretical, based only on lab and animal work, not real human cases. A cup of lemongrass tea or seasoning your food almost certainly won't matter. Concentrated capsules or essential oil are where I'd pause and check with your pharmacist first.

Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.
- LikelyWell-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
- UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Loratadine
This page covers Lemongrass only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Loratadine page lists 142 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Grapefruit (major), St. John's Wort (major), Acacia Rigidula (moderate) and Adrafinil (moderate).
By severity: 3 major · 99 moderate · 40 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Loratadine page
“Grapefruit juice is what I would flag first for anyone taking loratadine (Claritin). It blocks CYP3A4, the liver enzyme that clears the drug, so levels can climb.”
