Tramadol, Acetaminophen falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Lemongrass interacts with.

Theoretically, lemongrass might decrease the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here's the gist with Tramacet (the tramadol plus acetaminophen combo). Lab and animal studies hint that lemongrass, mainly its citral compound, can slow down a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Tramadol partly leans on that enzyme as it's processed, so in theory blocking it could let a bit more tramadol linger in your system. That might nudge up sleepiness, dizziness, nausea, or constipation, and at higher levels even slowed breathing.

I want to be honest though: this is theoretical, based only on animal and test-tube work, not real people. A cup of lemongrass tea or using it in cooking is very unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated supplements or the essential oil are where I'd pause. If you use those regularly, just check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

Theoretically, lemongrass might increase the clearance and decrease the levels of glucuronidated drugs.
Animal research shows that lemongrass and its constituent citral induce uridine diphosphoglucuronosyl transferase (UGT), the major phase 2 enzyme that is responsible for glucuronidation.

Here's the gist with Tramacet (tramadol plus acetaminophen): lab and animal studies suggest lemongrass, mainly through a compound called citral, may speed up a phase 2 process in your body called glucuronidation. Both ingredients in this combo pill get cleared partly through that pathway. So in theory, lemongrass could help your body break them down a little faster, which might mean weaker pain relief than you'd expect.

I want to be honest though: this is only theoretical and based on animal research, not real-world human studies. A cup of lemongrass tea or lemongrass in cooking is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated supplements or the essential oil are a different story, so check with your pharmacist or doctor before using those regularly.
