Ligandrol and Tetracycline

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.

Moderate

HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS

Why this applies to Tetracycline

Tetracycline falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Ligandrol interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use might have additive hepatotoxic effects.
In case reports, patients were diagnosed with liver injury thought to be related to the use of products containing ligandrol.
Severity Moderate Likelihood Possible Evidence D

Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.

Dr. Brian Staiger, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the concern with mixing Ligandrol and tetracycline: both can be tough on your liver. Tetracycline, especially at higher doses, has a known history of stressing the liver, and Ligandrol (a SARM that isn't approved for human use) has shown up in case reports of liver injury. Put two liver-stressors together and the worry is that the strain could add up.

To be fair, this is based mostly on anecdotal reports and theory, not strong studies, so I don't want to alarm you. Still, keep an eye out for warning signs like yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness. Honestly, I'd skip Ligandrol entirely, but please talk with your pharmacist or doctor before combining these.

  • Body recomposition
  • Bodybuilding cycles

Ligandrol (LGD-4033) is a synthetic selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM), not a natural herb or approved dietary supplement. It is not approved for human use, is banned in sports, and has been linked to liver injury and hormonal disruption, so it should not be taken as a supplement.

Oral tetracycline (tablets and capsules) treats infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including upper and lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and sexually transmitted infections such as those caused by Chlamydia trachomatis. Topical tetracycline products — including ointments, sprays, and solutions sold under brand names such as Tetracyte, Vitastem, Viabecline, Honestly Battleborn, and ViaDerma Care — are over-the-counter first-aid products used to help prevent skin infection in minor cuts, scrapes, and burns. These topical products are not used for systemic (whole-body) infections.
