Lime + Norfloxacin
Norfloxacin brand names: Norflox, Noroxin.
Lime has a moderate interaction with Norfloxacin. Theoretically, concomitant use of lime oil with photosensitizing drugs may increase the risk of phototoxicity.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS
Why this applies to Norfloxacin
Norfloxacin falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Lime interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to know: Norfloxacin is an antibiotic that can already make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, so you may sunburn faster than usual while taking it. Lime adds a small wrinkle. Certain compounds in lime oil and lime peel can also trigger sun sensitivity when they touch your skin and you then go out in the sun. Put the two together, in theory, and your risk of a burn or rash could go up a bit.
I want to be honest about the evidence here: this is mostly based on lab studies, not real patient cases, so it's a theoretical concern rather than a proven problem. Enjoying lime in food or a drink is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated lime oil on the skin plus sun is where I'd be more careful. Wear sunscreen, and ask your pharmacist if you're unsure.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Norfloxacin page
“The major entries on this page are the ones to understand first. With norfloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic usually prescribed for urinary tract infections, the biggest risks don't add side effects, they stop the drug from working.”

About Lime
What is Lime?
- Source of vitamin C
- Digestive upset
- Skin care
- Mood and aromatherapy
- Flavoring and food preservation
Lime is a common citrus fruit and a good natural source of vitamin C and plant antioxidants. As a food it is generally safe and enjoyed by most people, but evidence that lime treats any specific health condition is limited. Use the essential oil with care, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated lime products for health reasons.
