Levorphanol falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Magnolia interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of large doses of magnolia bark and CNS depressants might have additive effects.
In vitro and animal research shows that constituents extracted from magnolia bark, especially honokiol and magnolol, have sedative effects. These effects may be due to the inhibition of catecholamine release and modulation of gamma-aminobutyric acid-A (GABA-A) receptors.

Levorphanol is a strong opioid pain reliever, and one of its main effects is to calm down the brain and nervous system. That's where the overlap with magnolia comes in. Lab and animal studies suggest magnolia bark compounds (honokiol and magnolol) can also have a sedating, calming effect, possibly by acting on GABA pathways in the brain. So in theory, pairing the two could stack those calming effects on top of each other.

What that might look like in real life is feeling extra drowsy, foggy, or lightheaded, and in larger amounts, slower or shallower breathing. I want to be honest that this is based on early lab and animal research, not solid human studies, and big concentrated supplement doses are far more likely to matter than a small amount. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
