ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Perindopril Arginine, Amlodipine
Perindopril Arginine, Amlodipine falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Malic Acid interacts with.
Animal research shows that malic acid isolated from tagetes roots can reduce mean arterial blood pressure.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Prestalia pairs two blood pressure lowering medicines: perindopril (an ACE inhibitor) and amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker). Together they relax your blood vessels and bring your numbers down. The concern here is simple to picture: if malic acid also nudges blood pressure lower, the two effects could stack and push your pressure a little too far.
Be honest about the evidence though, it's very thin. This is a theoretical idea based mostly on one animal study, not on people taking supplements. Small food amounts, like the malic acid naturally in apples, are very unlikely to matter. With concentrated supplement doses, just keep an eye out for dizziness, lightheadedness, or feeling faint when you stand up. If that happens, check in with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.
