Animal research suggests that high doses of Manchurian thorn can induce liver damage. Theoretically, concomitant use with other potentially hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of developing liver damage.

Here's the concern with pairing Manchurian Thorn and entrectinib (Rozlytrek). Entrectinib already carries a known risk of liver stress, and your care team likely checks your liver enzymes during treatment. Manchurian Thorn, at high doses, has been linked to liver damage in animal studies, so the worry is that stacking the two could add up and put more strain on your liver.

To be fair, this is a theoretical caution based on lab and animal data, not solid human proof, so I don't want to alarm you. Still, with a serious cancer medicine like this one, I'd play it safe. Watch for signs like yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness, and please check with your oncologist or pharmacist before adding this supplement.

What Is Entrectinib Used For?

Brand name: Rozlytrek

Rozlytrek is used to treat adult patients with ROS1-positive metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) — a type of lung cancer where the ROS1 gene is rearranged — as confirmed by an FDA-approved test.

Rozlytrek is also approved for adult and pediatric patients older than 1 month with solid tumors that have an NTRK gene fusion (a specific genetic alteration), detected by an FDA-approved test, that have spread or cannot be removed without causing serious harm, and have worsened after prior treatment or have no good treatment alternatives. This NTRK indication was granted accelerated approval based on tumor response rates; continued approval may depend on results from confirmatory trials.
