Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Cablivi
Cablivi falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Palm Oil interacts with.
The palm olein constituent in palm oil seems to increase platelet aggregation.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: Cablivi (caplacizumab) is a clot-fighting medicine you get during treatment for aTTP, a serious blood disorder. The concern with palm oil is that one part of it, called palm olein, may nudge your platelets to clump together a little more. Since Cablivi works by keeping platelets from sticking and forming dangerous clots, in theory palm oil could work against it and make it slightly less effective.
I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. It's mostly theoretical, and normal cooking amounts of palm oil in food are very unlikely to undo a medicine like this. Concentrated palm oil supplements are a different story. Because aTTP is so serious, please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before taking any palm oil supplement.

About Palm Oil
What is Palm Oil?
- Cooking and food preparation
- Source of vitamin A (red palm oil)
- Vitamin E (tocotrienols)
- Skin and hair care
- General nutrition
Palm oil is a widely used edible oil pressed from the fruit of the oil palm tree, and red palm oil is a notable source of vitamin A and vitamin E compounds called tocotrienols. As a food it is generally considered safe, but it is high in saturated fat, so it should be used in moderation as part of a balanced diet. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated palm-oil supplements, especially if you have heart or cholesterol concerns.
About Caplacizumab-yhdp Injection
What Is Caplacizumab-yhdp Injection Used For?
Brand name: Cablivi
-
Caplacizumab-yhdp injection is used to treat acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (aTTP; a disorder in which the body attacks itself and causes clots, low amounts of platelets and red blood cells, and could cause other serious complications) in combination with plasma exchange therapy and immunosuppressant medications. Caplacizumab-yhdp is in a class of medications called antithrombotic agents. It works by blocking the action of a certain substance in the body that causes the symptoms of aTTP.
