Here's the honest picture with Selexipag (Uptravi). The interaction we have on file is really about palm oil and blood-thinning or anti-clotting medicines. One part of palm oil (palm olein) may make platelets a bit stickier, which could in theory work against drugs that keep blood flowing smoothly. Keep in mind this is theoretical and based on limited evidence, not strong proof.

Selexipag mainly relaxes the blood vessels in your lungs, so it isn't a classic blood thinner, and a normal amount of palm oil used in cooking is very unlikely to cause a problem. The bigger concern is the saturated fat, especially in concentrated palm-oil supplements. Before starting any supplement, check in with your pharmacist or doctor.

Palm oil is a widely used edible oil pressed from the fruit of the oil palm tree, and red palm oil is a notable source of vitamin A and vitamin E compounds called tocotrienols. As a food it is generally considered safe, but it is high in saturated fat, so it should be used in moderation as part of a balanced diet. About Selexipag

What Is Selexipag Used For?

Brand name: Uptravi

Selexipag tablets are used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH, WHO Group I) — a type of high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs. The goal is to slow the disease from getting worse and to reduce the chances of being hospitalized because of PAH.

Uptravi (selexipag) tablets are approved for both adults and children aged 2 years and older. Uptravi for injection (intravenous) is also available for adult patients who are already on Uptravi tablets but temporarily cannot take medicine by mouth.
