ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Insulin Lispro
Insulin Lispro falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Panax Ginseng interacts with.
Clinical research suggests that Panax ginseng might decrease blood glucose levels. Monitor blood glucose levels closely.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the thing to keep in mind: Panax ginseng may lower your blood sugar a bit on its own. Insulin lispro (Admelog) already works to bring your glucose down fast, so stacking the two could push your sugar lower than you intend. This isn't about ginseng changing how your insulin is broken down. It's simply two things nudging your blood sugar in the same direction at once.
In real life that means a higher chance of hypoglycemia, with signs like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, hunger, or confusion. The evidence here is modest, so don't panic, but if you want to try ginseng, check your blood sugar more often at first and talk with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Insulin Lispro page
“Blood sugar is the entire subject of this list. Insulin lispro (Admelog) is a rapid mealtime insulin dosed to bring glucose down after eating, and the supplements below can shove that same number around, most of them downward, which risks a genuine low.”
