Dr. Brian Staiger, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Soma Compound combines a muscle relaxant (carisoprodol) with aspirin, and it's the aspirin part that matters here. Aspirin already thins your blood by making platelets less sticky, which is why it can cause easy bruising, nosebleeds, or stomach irritation. Pantethine appears to do something similar, gently reducing how well platelets clump together.

Stacking the two could, in theory, add up and raise your bleeding risk a little. I'll be honest, though: this concern is mostly theoretical and based on limited research, so don't panic. Just keep an eye out for unusual bruising, bleeding gums, or dark stools, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, especially at concentrated supplement doses.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Aspirin, Carisoprodol page

“This is one of the longer interaction lists on the site, and for Soma Compound (aspirin plus the muscle relaxant carisoprodol) the caution is earned. Of the 266 supplements and herbs on file, just over 200 push in the same direction as aspirin itself, thinning the blood and raising the odds of bleeding.”

About Pantethine

What is Pantethine?

  • High cholesterol
  • High triglycerides
  • Heart health support
  • General vitamin B5 supplementation

Pantethine is a derivative of vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) that some studies suggest may modestly lower cholesterol and triglycerides. The evidence is limited and not strong enough to replace standard treatments, so talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have heart or cholesterol concerns.
