Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Naproxen, Sumatriptan
Naproxen, Sumatriptan falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Pantethine interacts with.
Some evidence suggests that pantethine reduces platelet aggregation.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Treximet combines naproxen, an anti-inflammatory pain reliever, with sumatriptan for migraines. The naproxen part already makes platelets a little less sticky, which is how it can raise bleeding risk on its own. Pantethine appears to do something similar, gently lowering how well platelets clump together. Stacking the two could add up and make easy bruising, nosebleeds, or stomach irritation a bit more likely.
To be fair, this concern is mostly theoretical and the evidence is limited. For most people it is not a big deal, but if you take Treximet often, have a history of ulcers or stomach bleeding, or are on a blood thinner, it is worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding pantethine.
