Parsley + Clomipramine
Clomipramine brand names: Anafranil, Anafranil SR.
Parsley has a moderate interaction with Clomipramine. Theoretically, parsley might increase serum levels of CYP1A2 substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Clomipramine
Clomipramine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Parsley interacts with.
Laboratory research suggests that parsley can inhibit CYP1A2.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the basic idea: your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP1A2 to help clear clomipramine. Lab studies hint that parsley may slow that enzyme down a bit. If that happened in real life, clomipramine could build up slightly and leave you feeling its effects more strongly, things like dry mouth, constipation, drowsiness, dizziness, a faster heartbeat, or feeling jittery.
The honest part: this is theoretical, based only on laboratory work, not on real patients. Normal cooking amounts of parsley are very unlikely to cause any trouble. Concentrated parsley supplements, seed extracts, or the essential oil are a different story and deserve more caution. If you're using a parsley product regularly, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Clomipramine page
“A tricyclic antidepressant used mostly for OCD, clomipramine (Anafranil) is unforgiving of shifts in its blood level, which is why its 236 supplement interactions deserve genuine wariness. Most of the list involves metabolism: herbs that speed up or slow down the liver enzymes handling clomipramine can drag its level too low or push it…”

About Parsley
What is Parsley?
- Water retention and bloating
- Urinary and bladder support
- Digestive upset
- Freshening breath
- Source of vitamins and antioxidants
Parsley is a popular culinary herb that is safe to eat in normal food amounts and is a good source of vitamins K and C. It is traditionally used as a diuretic and for digestion, but solid human evidence for medicinal benefits is limited. Concentrated supplements, seed extracts, and the essential oil are much stronger than food and should be used cautiously, especially during pregnancy.

Natural Medicines records Clomipramine as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Parsley — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
