Here's the thing to know about iloprost (Ventavis): besides relaxing your lung blood vessels, it also has a mild blood-thinning side, meaning it can make platelets a little less sticky. Peony root has been studied in lab and animal work and seems to do something similar, gently slowing clotting and platelet activity.

So when you put them together, the worry is that your blood could become a touch too slow to clot. In real life that might show up as easier bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or cuts that take longer to stop. I want to be honest though: this is theoretical, based only on test-tube and animal studies, not human cases, so the actual risk for most people is probably small. Still, since you're on a serious heart and lung medicine, please run peony past your pharmacist or doctor first.
