Here's the thing to know: both phenibut and hydrocodone are central nervous system depressants, meaning they each slow down brain and nerve activity. Hydrocodone is a strong opioid pain medicine that already causes drowsiness and, importantly, can slow your breathing. Phenibut works on the brain's calming GABA system and has its own sedating effect. Stack the two together and those effects can pile up.

This concern is mostly theoretical, based on how these drugs work plus case reports of phenibut causing heavy sedation and slowed breathing at higher doses. Even so, the combination could leave you overly sleepy, confused, or breathing dangerously slowly. I'd strongly urge you to talk with your doctor or pharmacist first. Frankly, phenibut isn't something we recommend at all, and safer options for anxiety or sleep exist.
