Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Aripiprazole Lauroxil
Aripiprazole Lauroxil falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Phenibut interacts with.
Phenibut has been associated with sedation and respiratory depression in several case reports, especially when taken at high doses.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Aristada (aripiprazole lauroxil) is a long-acting injection that helps steady mood and thinking. On its own it can already cause drowsiness, and that's where phenibut becomes a concern. Phenibut is a brain depressant that slows nerve activity to make you feel calm and sleepy. When you stack two things that both calm the brain, those effects can pile up.
Putting them together could leave you more sedated than expected, with grogginess, dizziness, slowed reactions, or trouble breathing if phenibut is used at high doses. This warning is theoretical, based on how these substances behave rather than proven cases with this exact drug, so I'm not trying to scare you. Still, we don't recommend phenibut at all. Please talk with your doctor or pharmacist about safer options.
