Selexipag falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Propolis interacts with.

Theoretically, propolis might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs.
In vitro research shows that propolis water extract and the propolis constituent, caffeic acid phenethyl ester, can inhibit platelet aggregation. Additionally, evidence from an animal model shows that taking propolis in addition to warfarin decreases INR, suggesting that propolis can decrease the effectiveness of warfarin.

Here's the honest picture: the bleeding concern on file really applies to true blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs. Selexipag (Uptravi) isn't a blood thinner, it's a medicine that relaxes the vessels in your lungs to ease pulmonary arterial hypertension. So the classic 'propolis plus a clot-preventing drug equals more bruising or bleeding' worry doesn't line up neatly with how Selexipag works.

That said, the lab signal here is weak (test-tube and animal data only), and propolis hasn't been studied directly with Selexipag. I wouldn't expect a meaningful problem, but since PAH is serious, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding propolis, especially if you take other medicines too.

Propolis is a natural, resin-like substance made by bees that has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties in lab studies. What Is Selexipag Used For?

Brand name: Uptravi

Selexipag tablets are used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH, WHO Group I) — a type of high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs. The goal is to slow the disease from getting worse and to reduce the chances of being hospitalized because of PAH.

Uptravi (selexipag) tablets are approved for both adults and children aged 2 years and older. Uptravi for injection (intravenous) is also available for adult patients who are already on Uptravi tablets but temporarily cannot take medicine by mouth.
