Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Efgartigimod alfa-fcab
Efgartigimod alfa-fcab falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Quillaia interacts with.
In vitro research shows that some quillaia constituents have immunostimulant effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Vyvgart (efgartigimod) works by lowering a part of your immune system, specifically the IgG antibodies that drive conditions like myasthenia gravis. Quillaia's saponins, on the other hand, have shown immune-stimulating activity in lab studies. The concern is that nudging the immune system in the opposite direction could, in theory, work against what Vyvgart is trying to do, possibly meaning less symptom control (more muscle weakness, fatigue, or trouble with swallowing or eyelids).
I want to be honest with you though: this is a theoretical worry based only on test-tube research, not on real people taking these together. Small amounts of quillaia used as a food emulsifier are very unlikely to matter. Before using concentrated quillaia supplements, just check with your pharmacist or neurologist first.
