Here's the simple version: Eplerenone (Inspra) is a blood pressure medicine, and some animal studies hint that royal jelly may have a mild blood-pressure-lowering effect of its own. Put the two together and, in theory, your pressure could dip a little lower than expected. That might leave you feeling dizzy, lightheaded, or tired, especially when you stand up quickly.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. This is a theoretical concern based mostly on lab and animal data, not solid human studies, so it's a possibility rather than a sure thing. If you'd like to try royal jelly, that's a reasonable conversation to have with your pharmacist or doctor, and keeping an eye on your home blood pressure readings is a smart, easy safeguard.

What Is Eplerenone Used For?

Eplerenone treats two conditions. First, it is used to lower high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of stroke and heart attack. It can be used alone or alongside other blood pressure medicines.

Second, eplerenone is used to improve survival in stable adults who have heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) — meaning the heart pumps less blood than normal — following an acute myocardial infarction (heart attack).
