Here's the gist if you're thinking about pairing kanna with your Abilify (aripiprazole). Aripiprazole can already make some people feel drowsy, calm, or a little foggy. Sceletium appears to have mild sedative qualities of its own, so stacking the two together could, in theory, add up to more sleepiness than you'd expect from either one alone.

I want to be honest about how solid this is: it's a theoretical concern based on how the plant seems to behave, not proven cases in real patients. Still, since both can touch mood and brain chemistry, I'd loop in your pharmacist or prescriber before combining them. Watch for extra drowsiness, dizziness, or trouble concentrating, and don't drive until you know how you feel. Please don't stop your aripiprazole on your own.
