Aripiprazole falls under Qt Interval-Prolonging Drugs — the group American Hellebore interacts with.

American hellebore, also known as Veratrum viride, contains alkaloids that can potentially prolong the QT interval on an electrocardiogram (ECG). This effect is similar to that of certain medications known as QT-prolonging drugs, which can increase the risk of a serious heart rhythm disorder called torsades de pointes (source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4728534/). Combining American hellebore with other drugs that cause QT-prolongation can increase the risk of adverse effects.

Here's the concern with pairing American Hellebore and aripiprazole (Abilify). Both can nudge your heart's electrical timing in the same direction, lengthening what doctors call the QT interval. Aripiprazole carries a mild QT effect on its own, but the toxic alkaloids in American Hellebore can also stress your heart rhythm and blood pressure. Stack the two and you raise the odds of a rare but dangerous rhythm called torsades de pointes.

This isn't about aripiprazole being broken down differently. It's two things tugging on the same wire. Honestly, American Hellebore is a poisonous plant I wouldn't recommend at all. Please talk with your pharmacist or doctor before going near any product containing it while on aripiprazole.
