Here's the heart of the issue: American Hellebore is a toxic plant that lowers blood pressure and slows the heart rate all on its own, even in tiny amounts. Lisinopril already works to relax your blood vessels and bring your blood pressure down. Put the two together and you stack one blood pressure drop on top of another.

That combination can leave you feeling dizzy, lightheaded, or faint, and it may slow your pulse to a dangerous level. The bigger concern is that Hellebore is genuinely poisonous, not a gentle supplement, so this isn't a risk worth taking. Please don't use any product containing it without first talking to your pharmacist or doctor.

About Lisinopril

What Is Lisinopril Used For?

Brand names: Zestril, Prinivil, Qbrelis

Lisinopril treats high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children 6 years and older, and can be used alone or alongside other blood pressure medicines. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of strokes and heart attacks. The tablet combination product containing lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide is specifically indicated for high blood pressure.

Lisinopril is also used as an add-on therapy to reduce signs and symptoms of systolic heart failure, and to reduce the risk of death in people who are hemodynamically stable (have reasonably stable circulation) within 24 hours of an acute heart attack (acute myocardial infarction).
