Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Rescinnamine (Moderil) is an older blood pressure medicine that works by lowering the level of certain nerve signals, which relaxes your vessels and brings blood pressure down. Here's the thing to know: sea buckthorn may have a mild blood pressure lowering effect of its own. So when you pair the two, the worry is that they could add together and push your pressure a little too low.

If that happened, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or woozy when standing up. I'll be honest with you though, this concern is theoretical, based on how things work rather than proven cases, and food amounts of the berry are unlikely to matter. Concentrated supplements are the bigger question. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before starting one.

By severity: 4 major · 111 moderate · 21 minor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Rescinnamine page

“American hellebore is the entry I would flag first for anyone taking rescinnamine (Moderil). Even small amounts of the herb drop blood pressure sharply and can slow the heart, and rescinnamine is already working to bring pressure down.”
