Sea Moss and Bezlotoxumab

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Bezlotoxumab and Sea Moss in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

What to actually watch for

What Sea Moss Itself Has Been Linked To

This is not an interaction — nothing below involves Bezlotoxumab. It is the side-effect record for Sea Moss on its own, from the licensed Natural Medicines monograph. If something new turns up after you add Sea Moss, this list is the first place to look.

  • Constipation / Diarrhea Additional detail

“Orally, see moss has been reported to cause constipation and diarrhea in one observational study.”

Everything above comes from the Natural Medicines adverse-effect record for Sea Moss — expand a row for the licensed statement it rests on. We read the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Bezlotoxumab’s FDA label too, and the two lists don’t meaningfully overlap — which is why no Bezlotoxumab column appears here.

About Sea Moss

What is Sea Moss?

Sea Moss
  • Source of iodine and minerals
  • Thyroid support
  • Respiratory issues and cough
  • Digestive support
  • Skin and hair health
  • General immune and antioxidant support

Sea moss is a type of red seaweed that is naturally rich in iodine and several minerals, and it is popular as a 'whole-food' supplement. Strong human evidence for most of its health claims is lacking, and its high and variable iodine content can be a real concern, especially for people with thyroid problems. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it, particularly if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a thyroid condition.

Chondrus crispus · Gigartinaceae · Whole dried seaweed (thallus) · Gel, dried raw seaweed, capsules, powder, gummies, drinks, skin products

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Sea Moss is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Sea Moss record says about it on its own.

Sea Moss: dosing

There is no established, standardized dose for sea moss. Iodine content varies widely between products, which makes consistent dosing difficult and increases the risk of getting too much.If you choose to use it, follow the directions on the product label and start low.

About Bezlotoxumab Injection

What Is Bezlotoxumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Zinplava

Zinplava is used to reduce the chance that a Clostridioides difficile (C. diff) infection will come back. It is approved for adults and children 1 year of age and older who are already taking an antibiotic to treat an active C. diff infection and who are considered high-risk for the infection returning.

Important: Zinplava is not a treatment for C. diff on its own — it does not replace antibiotics. It must always be used alongside antibiotic treatment for C. diff, never instead of it.
