Theoretically, sorrel might cause additive effects and side effects when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro, sorrel has been shown to inhibit platelet aggregation. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.

Here is the simple version. Cablivi (caplacizumab) already works to prevent the tiny clots that happen in aTTP, so it lowers your blood's ability to clot. Sorrel, in test-tube studies only, has shown it can make platelets a little less sticky too. Stack those together and the concern is purely additive: in theory you might bruise or bleed more easily, see nosebleeds, or notice cuts taking longer to stop.

Now the honest part: this effect has only been seen in a lab dish, never proven in real people, so it's a theoretical caution, not a known problem. Everyday cooking amounts of sorrel are very unlikely to matter. Still, since you're being treated for a serious bleeding-and-clotting condition, please run any concentrated sorrel supplement past your doctor or pharmacist first.

What Is Caplacizumab-yhdp Injection Used For?

  • Caplacizumab-yhdp injection is used to treat acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (aTTP; a disorder in which the body attacks itself and causes clots, low amounts of platelets and red blood cells, and could cause other serious complications) in combination with plasma exchange therapy and immunosuppressant medications. Caplacizumab-yhdp is in a class of medications called antithrombotic agents. It works by blocking the action of a certain substance in the body that causes the symptoms of aTTP.
