Abrocitinib falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Sorrel interacts with.

Theoretically, sorrel might cause additive effects and side effects when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro, sorrel has been shown to inhibit platelet aggregation. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the honest picture: the interaction on file pairs sorrel with blood-thinning (anticoagulant or antiplatelet) drugs, where sorrel might gently add to a clot-slowing effect. In a test tube, sorrel slowed platelets from clumping, but that's never actually been shown to happen in people.

Now, abrocitinib (Cibinqo) isn't really a classic blood thinner. It's a JAK inhibitor for eczema, and one thing worth knowing is that it can lower your platelet counts on its own. So if there's any concern, it's that a platelet-slowing effect from sorrel could, in theory, stack on top of that and add to bruising or bleeding tendencies. The evidence here is weak and theoretical. Normal cooking amounts of sorrel are very unlikely to matter, but check with your pharmacist before using concentrated sorrel supplements.

What Is Abrocitinib Used For?

Brand name: Cibinqo

Cibinqo (abrocitinib) is approved to treat adults and children aged 12 and older who have moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) that has not been adequately controlled with other systemic treatments, including biologics — or when those treatments are not appropriate.

Cibinqo is specifically for refractory cases, meaning it is intended for people whose eczema has not responded well enough to other options. It is not recommended to be used alongside other JAK inhibitors, biologic immunomodulators, or other immunosuppressants.
