Sweet Almond + Trimipramine

Trimipramine brand names: Surmontil, Trimip, Rhotrimine, Tripramine, Trimp.

No Known Interaction
The bottom line No known interaction

We found no known interaction between Sweet Almond and Trimipramine in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.

Sweet Almond and Trimipramine

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Trimipramine and Sweet Almond in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Sweet Almond at all — not against Trimipramine, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

No Interaction Found — But Data Suggests Sweet Almond and Trimipramine May Share Several of the Same Side Effects

This is not an interaction. Neither one changes how your body handles the other, and nothing here says they react together. What our sources do show is that each has separately been linked to the effects below — so taking both can make those effects more likely to turn up, and harder to pin on one or the other if they do.

Reported for Sweet Almond but not commonly for Trimipramine: an allergic reaction.

Effects for Trimipramine come from the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of its FDA label; effects for Sweet Almond come from the Natural Medicines adverse-effect record, quoted above. Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 1,449 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Trimipramine that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Wording is matched across sources by our own clinical vocabulary, so treat this as a prompt to pay attention, not a diagnosis.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Trimipramine page

“If you take trimipramine (Surmontil), a tricyclic antidepressant, read this list carefully. Nine of the 139 supplements and herbs on file are rated major, and most touch the heart: several, grapefruit among them, can stretch the QT interval, the heart's electrical reset time, and raise the risk of a dangerous rhythm.”

About Sweet Almond

What is Sweet Almond?

  • Heart and cholesterol health
  • Skin moisturizing
  • Hair and scalp care
  • Constipation and digestive comfort
  • Nutritious snack and protein source

Sweet almonds are a nutritious tree nut rich in healthy fats, fiber, protein, vitamin E, and minerals, and they are generally safe and healthy to eat as part of a balanced diet. Almond oil is also widely used on the skin and hair. The main concern is tree-nut allergy, which can be serious; people with nut allergies should avoid almonds entirely.

Prunus dulcis · Rosaceae · Seed (nut) and oil pressed from the seed · Whole nuts, almond flour, almond milk, almond butter, almond oil (for skin and hair)

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Sweet Almond is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Sweet Almond record says about it on its own.

Sweet Almond: dosing

There is no official "dose" for sweet almonds because they are a food. In nutrition studies, a common amount is about a small handful (roughly an ounce) per day as part of a balanced diet, but this is a general guide, not a set medicine dose. For supplements, almond flour, or almond oil products, follow the directions on the label. A standardized medicinal dose has not been established.

About Trimipramine

What Is Trimipramine Used For?

Brand names: Surmontil, Trimip, Rhotrimine, Tripramine, Trimp

Trimipramine capsules are indicated for the relief of symptoms of depression. Endogenous depression — depression that arises from within, rather than from an obvious outside cause — is more likely to respond to treatment than other types.

In clinical studies, trimipramine worked as well as imipramine in hospitalized patients with depression, and was comparable to amitriptyline in less severely depressed outpatients.
