Temsirolimus falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Syrian Rue interacts with.

Theoretically, Syrian rue might increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
Syrian rue contains beta-carboline alkaloids, including harmine, harmol, and harmane. In vitro research suggests that these beta-carboline alkaloids competitively inhibit CYP3A4 enzymes.

Here's the basic idea with temsirolimus (Torisel). Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear this cancer drug out of your system. Lab studies suggest the harmala alkaloids in Syrian Rue can slow that same enzyme down. If that happened in a real person, temsirolimus could build up to higher levels than intended, which may mean stronger side effects like mouth sores, rash, low blood counts, high blood sugar, high cholesterol, or feeling more tired and run down.

I want to be honest that this is theoretical, based on test-tube data rather than people. Still, temsirolimus is a serious chemotherapy drug given under close supervision, so don't add Syrian Rue without first checking with your oncology team or pharmacist.
