Scopolamine falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS — the group Teazle interacts with.

In vitro research suggests that teazle extract can inhibit acetylcholinesterase activity. Theoretically, concurrent use of anticholinergic drugs and teazle might decrease the effectiveness of teazle or the anticholinergic agent.

Here's the gist with Teazle and your Scopolamine patch or tablets. Scopolamine works by blocking acetylcholine, a signaling chemical in your nervous system. Some lab studies hint that Teazle may do the opposite, raising acetylcholine levels by slowing the enzyme that breaks it down. If that played out in the body, the two could partly cancel each other out, and your Scopolamine might not control motion sickness or nausea as well as expected.

That said, this is purely theoretical, based only on test-tube research, not real people. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up before combining them, especially if your nausea or motion sickness suddenly seems harder to manage.

Teazle (Dipsacus fullonum) is a spiky plant used in traditional and folk medicine, most notably as a tincture marketed for Lyme disease and for joint pain and skin problems. There is very little high-quality human research to support any of these uses, so its benefits remain unproven. Talk with a pharmacist or doctor before trying it, and never use it to replace standard treatment for serious infections like Lyme disease.

What Is Scopolamine Transdermal Patch Used For?

Brand names: Scopace, Scopolamine Injection, Transderm Scop

Scopolamine Transdermal System (also sold as Transderm Scōp) is approved for adults to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by motion sickness. You apply it before travel to help stop queasiness before it starts.

It is also used to prevent post-operative nausea and vomiting (PONV) — the nausea and vomiting that can follow surgery, anesthesia, or opioid pain medicines. Transderm Scōp is applied the evening before surgery (for surgeries other than cesarean section) and removed 24 hours after the procedure.
