Pomalidomide falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Thymus Extract interacts with.

Theoretically, patients taking immunosuppressants may be at an increased risk of infection from contaminated thymus extract.
Thymus extract is derived from raw bovine thymus glands and is at risk for contamination. Tell patients to avoid thymus extract products unless these products are certified as pathogen-free.

This one isn't about how your body processes Pomalidomide (Pomalyst), and the supplement won't make the drug stronger or weaker. The concern is different: thymus extract is made from raw animal (cow) thymus glands, which can carry germs if the product isn't purified properly. Pomalidomide treats multiple myeloma and Kaposi's sarcoma, and it can lower your body's ability to fight off infection.

So the worry is an infection from a contaminated supplement landing in someone whose immune system is already weakened. This is a theoretical caution based on how these products are made, not proof of harm. Still, I'd skip thymus extract while on Pomalidomide unless it's certified pathogen-free, and please check with your oncology team or pharmacist first.

About Pomalidomide

What Is Pomalidomide Used For?

Brand name: Pomalyst

Pomalidomide capsules are used in adults with multiple myeloma (a blood cancer affecting plasma cells) who have already tried at least two prior treatments — including lenalidomide and a proteasome inhibitor — and whose disease has continued to progress. It is given in combination with dexamethasone for this use.

Pomalidomide capsules are also used to treat Kaposi sarcoma (KS) — a cancer that can cause lesions on the skin and in internal organs — both in adults with AIDS-related KS after antiretroviral therapy has stopped working, and in adults with KS who are HIV-negative. The KS indication was approved based on response rate; ongoing studies are confirming long-term benefit.
