The piece that matters here is the phenobarbital in this combination. Phenobarbital is a barbiturate, which means it already slows down your brain and nervous system. Valerian is thought to have its own mild calming, sleepy effect. Stack the two together and those effects can add up, so you may feel more drowsy, foggy, dizzy, or unsteady than you expect. The atropine part isn't the main concern for this particular interaction.

I want to be honest about the evidence: this is mostly theoretical, based on lab and animal studies, not strong human data. Still, since phenobarbital is a potent sedative, it's worth caution. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding valerian, and don't drive until you know how you feel.
