Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the thing to keep in mind if you're following the WW (Weight Watchers) program while taking tirzepatide (Mounjaro). This isn't a chemical clash. WW doesn't have an active ingredient that changes how tirzepatide is processed. The concern is simpler: cutting back on calories and carbs while also taking a medication that lowers blood sugar can stack the two effects together, and your blood sugar may dip too low.

On its own, tirzepatide rarely causes low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), but the risk goes up if you're paired with insulin or a sulfonylurea, or if you're eating noticeably less. Watch for shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy. The good news is this is manageable. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting WW so they can check whether your doses need a small adjustment.
