These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Willow Bark interacts with whole categories of medication. Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Willow Bark in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
1 of 2Why this applies to Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone
Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Willow Bark interacts with.
Willow bark has antiplatelet effects, but less so than aspirin.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the thing that makes this combo worth a second look: your medication (Damason-P) already contains real aspirin, which thins the blood and reduces the stickiness of platelets. Willow bark works in a similar way because your body turns its salicin into salicylic acid, the same family as aspirin. So you'd essentially be stacking two aspirin-like blood thinners on top of each other.
This is a theoretical concern based on how these compounds behave, not proven harm, and willow bark's effect is milder than aspirin's. Still, the realistic worry is easier bruising, nosebleeds, stomach upset or irritation, or bleeding that takes longer to stop. I'd run this past your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, rather than guessing on your own.

ASPIRIN
2 of 2Willow bark contains salicin, a plant salicylate. It might have an additive effect when taken with other salicylate-containing drugs such as aspirin.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the thing to keep in mind: your Damason-P already contains aspirin, which is a salicylate. Willow bark also turns into a salicylate (salicylic acid) once your body breaks it down. So taking both at once is like stacking two aspirin-like compounds on top of each other. That can add up to a bigger salicylate effect than you intended.
In real terms, that may mean more of aspirin's typical downsides, things like stomach upset, heartburn, easy bruising, or a higher chance of bleeding, and at higher doses, ringing in the ears. This is a theoretical concern based on how these two work, not something proven in studies, so don't panic. Still, I'd run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them rather than guessing.

About Willow Bark
What is Willow Bark?
- Low back pain
- Osteoarthritis joint pain
- Headache
- Fever
- General aches and inflammation
Willow bark is a traditional plant remedy that contains salicin, a compound related to aspirin, and is most often used for pain and inflammation. Some evidence suggests it may modestly help low back pain and joint pain, but the research is limited and the right dose is not well standardized. Because it acts like aspirin, people with aspirin allergies, bleeding problems, or who are pregnant should be cautious and talk to a pharmacist or doctor first.
