Amobarbital falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Yin Chen interacts with.

Theoretically, yin chen might enhance the therapeutic and adverse effects of other CNS depressants.
Animal research shows that yin chen has sedative effects and can reduce motor activity and impair balance and coordination. When used in combination with pentobarbital, yin chen increases sleeping time when compared to pentobarbital alone.

Amobarbital (Amytal) is a barbiturate, which means it's a strong sedative that already slows your brain and body down. Yin Chen, in animal studies, seems to have its own calming, sedative-like effect. So the worry here is simple addition: putting them together could make Amobarbital's effects stronger than expected. That might show up as extra drowsiness, dizziness, slowed breathing, poor balance, or feeling foggy and slow to react.

I want to be honest that this is mostly theoretical. The signal comes from lab and animal research (one study paired Yin Chen with a similar barbiturate and saw longer sleep times), not from people. Still, because barbiturates are powerful, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.
