Here's the gist with hydrocodone (Hysingla, Vantrela ER) and Yin Chen. Hydrocodone is a strong opioid that already slows down your brain and nervous system. Yin Chen, in animal studies, seems to have its own calming, sedating effect. Put them together and the worry is simple: the two may add up, so you could feel extra drowsy, dizzy, or foggy, with slower breathing being the most serious concern with any opioid.

I'll be honest about the evidence here, it's thin. This is based on lab and animal research, not solid human studies, so it's more theoretical than proven. Still, with a powerful around-the-clock pain medicine like this, I'd play it safe. Please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.
